Fits and runs well on my 1984 Shadow vt500c

I purchased this directly through the Mighty Max website, but it’s the same product: YB12A-A 12V 12AH 165 CCA BATTERY and used it in my 1984 Honda Shadow VT 500 with had completely died and had no lights or anything. I had previously (foolishly) purchased an unsealed battery to replace it but it didn’t do diddley despite showing fully charged – so I must have done something wrong with it. After messing with things a bunch I finally sprung for another battery, this Mighty Max, and it brought my motorcycle back to life immediately RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. I did charge it after the fact using the trickle charger but it was such a relief to finally have the bike back to life. And to top it off, this battery was cheaper than the unsealed option – so now I’m irked that I didn’t know this beforehand. I don’t know how long it will last but even if it’s just one season I’d be happy with performance – but I suspect with the trickle charge it will probably be happier even longer than that.
