When a Gel Cell battery is charged, no hazardous fumes escape the battery case, gases are processed within the battery itself.

Great battery. Excellent cranking power. Only gets 4 stars because it says gel and mine is an acid sealed battery. Maintenance free. Literally my only complaint. Fired my bike up right out of the delivery package. My bike eats batteries so I will see how long it lasts.
