My, now antique, wired alarm needs a battery for back-up power. These batteries need replacing about every 5 years or so – at least that has been my experience. According to the specs this battery is rated for a slightly more max amps but apparently that is OK with the alarm as I unplugged the old battery, plugged this one in (two bayonet connections – just keep the + & – straight) and the alarm is happy again. The battery sits in a large metal box so slight variation in size is OK but this one seems to be (by eyeball) the same size as the old one. (Old one was a UltraTech UT1240, 12V 4.5AH I bought at the local battery store.)Only time (years, hopefully) will tell how this battery stacks up to prior ones in terms of durability.

My Opinion –
Quick delivery from Mighty Max. Good packaging.Looks OK outside. I have charged it with an external charger (Noco) and installed into security box. Give 4 stars because it is impossible to tell how long it will last which is the main criteria for a battery. I have fios battery that is still operational after 6 years and another one that failed after 4 years.

Bought this to back-up my Comcast cable so that my house phones still work during a power outage. Didn’t work. Hard to tell if it’s even charged. There were no instructions with this battery.
