The cost of just the battery is excellent considering I was looking at purchasing a new UPS and decided to see if I could just replace the battery. It was so easy. There is no reason to pay for the cost of a new unit if all you need to do is replace the battery. Even the most technically challenged person can do the swap in a matter of 2 minutes. I put this in about 6 months ago and during that time, we have had a number of power outages due to weather and the internet and computer continue to run. Super easy to install – google how to replace Belkin battery for steps with photos. Black and red cables slide off and on. This was the 1st replacement so cables were on there pretty tight but then the new ones slid on a lot easier. Tested battery and was pleased when the blinking green light went solid, it did take quite a few minutes longer than I thought it would. Fingers crossed the life will be long, the original lasted about 7 years – figure if I get 1/2 that I’ll be lucky so we’ll see.Updated – inside the box you get an offer to register to extend warranty by 3 MONTHS but no mention elsewhere what warranty was to begin with . . .

Remove the cover, tip the battery out… the wires are only long enough to let the old battery (white one) slide out, so be gentle. On old battery, Remove the black connector then the red connector with the protective red plastic on it. Next, remove the plastic protector covers on the new (black Mighty Max) battery terminals and connect the red wire connector and the black wire connector on the new Mighty Max battery and slide it back in the Belkin box. Reconnect power to the Gateway and plug in the Belkin Backup battery. Wait a few minutes for the Gateway to restart. Takes 5 minutes. The battery fits great (see pics), is easy to replace and works. Should be good to go for 5-7-10 years. Maybe. Great deal. Would definitely buy again if they’re still available by then. ????????

Luckily i opened the interior of the case, and found that it was just a large battery, i bought this and plugged it in and it seems to work perfectly. I boought the used belkin for $2.00. THe batter for $19.00 with shipping, and now i have a $100.00 bakcup battery for moddem for price of $21.00 total dollars.

This is the perfect replacement for my Belkin Backup Supply given to me when I had ATT Uverse.
