The YTZ14SGEL is a 12V 11.2AH GEL (Maintenance Free) battery. Requires no addition of water during the life of the battery. The Mighty Max YTZ14SGEL is a TRUE DEEP CYCLE battery that can be mounted in any position, requires no maintenance. When a Gel Cell battery is charged, no hazardous fumes escape the battery case, gases are processed within the battery itself.

I put this into a 2012 R1200GS and so far it’s working fine. If I could find one, I could have gone with another battery that was an inch taller, but this fit, it has a good amount of cranking amps and at the price it’s a steal. I think the OEM battery is 3 times the price.

As others have noted, this is NOT a sealed, maintenance-free battery. Each cell is topped with a small rubber cap, designed to be removed to refresh the electrolyte for extending the life of the battery, per manufacturer’s instruction. Don’t expect the battery to last long without refills.
