i had my electric weed eater for 2 years, it stopped being powerful, like it couldnt even cut a blade of grass. after swapping out the battery (you need a long skinny screwdriver FYI) it felt like it was brand new, it was destroying grass and weeds again, but it only had enough charge to do the front or back yard. i just charge it between the two now, it skip one side each mowing.

This battery was an exact fit for my old Black and Decker CST 1200 string trimmer. The first battery received did not perform as expected.Mighty Max Battery Customer Care sent a follow-up email asking about my satisfaction with their product and service. I explained the issue with the battery and I received a prompt and very courteously reply. A replacement battery was sent free of charge. I have been using that battery for about two months. A full charge does not last quite as long as the original battery but it is sufficient to trim my front drive, sidewalk and side fence. I am pleased with the quality of service provided by the Customer Care personnel and would order from Mighty Max Battery again.

Installing the battery is reasonably easy (although you’ll need a screwdriver shaft-type T15 wrench: many of the screws are too deep-set for most socket-type ones to access).Unfortunately, the battery isn’t performing much better than the nearly-dead factory one it replaced: I get about 8 minutes of enough RPMs to actually cut through grass and small leafy weeds – not enough to finish even my small back yard (about 18X25 – plus a plant bed).Interestingly, the battery seemed to be nearly, if not fully, charged when installed: I took it out for a good 5-7 minutes of full-speed cutting – without any sign of slow-down – before initially putting it on the charger (if it shouldn’t have been run at all until charged, some instructions to that effect should have been included – there was nothing but the battery and packing materials in the box). It hasn’t performed as well any time since.I suppose it’s possible the issue is with the charger (the lone, always-red yes – it’s hooked up LED indicator on the trimmer isn’t exactly a big help), but I’m not willing to invest another $25 or so on a replacement one hoping that’s true: I’m going back to the lighter weight and consistently high-RPM performance of a corded unit (Li-ion batteries might perform better than SLA, but those trimmers are 3-4X the price of a decent corded one – no thanks).
