The Liftmaster manual says to unplug the garage door opener. My ladder didn’t reach. I could have cut the power at the breaker panel, but I thought that was just a precaution, and it would be fine replacing the battery with the power on. I disconnected the red terminal first, then black. Put the new battery in and connected the black first, then red. That beeping stopped immediately and all is well. Easy, easy, easy.

The battery backup for my Craftsman garage door opener needed replacement after about 15 years (and never being used because I never had a power failure). The old Die Hard battery is no longer available but the Mighty Max equivalent was a perfect fit and after about a five minute replacement the nagging beeping stopped and hopefully will work well, if it is ever needed. I cannot assess the longevity after just a few days installed, so I rated it average (I hope it lasts another 15 years).

My garage door battery started beeping and the display stated the battery needed to be replaced. This was an alternative to the branded battery offered by the garage door manufacturer at a much lower cost. Fit perfectly in the slot, connectors lined up and installed without issue. Now my garage door opener no longer beeps at me. It’s been 3 months and still not a beep.

I unplugged the garage door, and… the garage door opened and closed just fine, just a little slower than usual but the battery had plenty of power to open and shut the garage. Pretty impressive! Don’t know how long the battery will last, but I will probably just replace it every 3 years since it is so cheap. Good buy.
