Might Max Battery Hydrometers are designed to detect a battery's state of charge by sampling the electrolyte from each cell. The hydrometer contains a floating indicator that represents the density of the electrolyte – the more dense the electrolyte the higher the battery's state of charge.

    This product arrived quickly and is nicely built but there can be a problem. While this will most likely work on most car batteries I ran into a problem with a new Interstate marine deep cycle battery I wanted to test. Each cell does not contain enough liquid to get a reading so I was out of luck for testing though generally this tester works really well when there is enough battery acid to fill the tester. There is no way to know in advance if this will work with a specific battery.

    I use it to test my boat batteries. I don’t have power down on my dock. So I test them to see if any need a charge. Then I can bring them up to the garage for charging. I have three boats with two batteries in each. I really need to run power down there!

I received the battery reasonably quick. I purchased it on amazon. The voltage looks good right out of the box but I haven't tested it with a load on it yet, but I will adjust the rating when I do. Update I used it on some stair climbing Dollies. It worked great.

Received the replacement ML4-6 battery for my Coleman lantern and it was an exact match. I’m very happy with the battery and it works as it should. Update, ordered another mighty max battery. This time it was for my battery backup. Exact for and extremely easy to swap out. For $20 i got my $80 backup working again. Thank you mighty max battery another satisfier customer with an excellent retutation, i highly recommend.
