The YTZ10S GEL is a 12V 8.6AH GEL (Maintenance Free) battery. Requires no addition of water during the life of the battery. The Mighty Max YTZ10S GEL is a TRUE DEEP CYCLE battery that can be mounted in any position, requires no maintenance. When a Gel Cell battery is charged, no hazardous fumes escape the battery case, gases are processed within the battery itself.

So far so good, came fully charged ready to go. For a TTR230. Will update later if there are problems. I treat my batteries well. Bring them in the house over winter when not in use and charge them periodically. So it would have to be a manufactures defect or poor quality if it doesn't last five years.
