I was running my mower for about 2 hours, way more than 1 hour at a time, so it should have had plenty of time to charge the battery between starts. But throughout June I had to jumpstart it each time. Through May it sounded like it was getting weaker and weaker. March and April it seemed fine though. I found out a local tractor store sells these cheaper because they can take your old battery back (they charge more if you do not turn in your old battery). The one I got from there was not dead on arrival, we’ll see how long it lasts. Other people said their battery came charged, so maybe I just got a dud.

I got this to replace the battery on my riding mower because I was tired of charging or jumping it every time I went to use the mower. This thing was the best and cheapest I could find for the value. I measured the opening on my Scag Tiger Cub mower and ordered this battery as a good fit. Unfortunately, the length of this battery was longer than the stated 7.75 inches, and I had to modify the battery box to accept the extra length. The battery was not charged, so I charged for several days before trying the crank the engine, and since it has been holding nicely. Time will tell regarding longevity…

Used to replace a 6 year old battery on my 8kw home generator. When it has to work, it has to work, especially when needed to power up… when its minus zero Michigan winter. I keep a 1amp float charger on all my batteries. I check/test monthly. Float charger are the best$$$ you can spend to prolong battery life. $10.
